Myrtle Beach man charged with DUI after head-on crash with trooper


MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - South Carolina authorities are charging a Myrtle Beach man with drunken driving after his vehicle crashed head-on into a state Highway Patrol trooper's cruiser.

Multiple media reported that 28-year-old Daniel Adam Myers was booked Saturday on a charge of driving under the influence.

Sergeant Jeff Benton of the Horry County Sheriff's Office says the highway patrol trooper was leaving a safety checkpoint when the crash happened.

Myers and the trooper were treated and released from a hospital.

Myers was released on bond.
