MUSC online nursing program earns top spot on new list

U.S. News & World Report named the Medical University of South Carolina's online graduate nursing program No. 1 in the country.

The media company surveyed 133 nursing schools with online programs for this year's rankings, measuring each program's faculty credentials and training, student services, student engagement and selectivity.

"This is a tremendous achievement and a reflection of the dedication of our faculty and staff to make our educational programs the best in the country," said MUSC College of Nursing Dean Gail Stuart, in a prepared statement. "It is a high honor for MUSC and the state of South Carolina to be ranked number one in the nation."

The MUSC College of Nursing offers online programs for a variety of degrees, including a Masters of Science and a PhD degree.

U.S. News & World Report releases rankings in many different categories every year, such as best diets, best hospitals, best universities and best cruises.
