The suspect in a fatal armed robbery in West Ashley last month will be back in North Charleston for a bond hearing Wednesday morning, according to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.

James Torrez Wright, 24, was arrested Monday in Savannah by a fugitive task force with the U.S. Marshals Service, sheriff's Maj. Eric Watson said. Wright is charged with murder in the death of Latorria Heyward, 24, at the Three Oaks mobile home park.

Two armed men forced their way into a mobile home on Savannah Highway about 2 a.m. July 13 and demanded money, according to investigators. Several shots were fired. Heyward and her fiance, Jerry Simmons, 29, were hit by bullets.

Heyward died at the scene. Simmons was shot three times and was treated at Medical University Hospital and released.

Wright also faces several other charges, including attempted murder, first-degree burglary, armed robbery and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

His bond hearing is set for 9 a.m.
