Two men got into a scuffle with loss prevention employees at a Mount Pleasant Wal-Mart on Wednesday after one of them was seen opening a Crosman BB gun package and putting the air pistol in his waistband, according to a police report.
The incident was reported about 4:45 p.m. at 1481 U.S. Highway 17. No arrests have been made.
Loss prevention officers approached the two men as they walked past the registers in the front of the store, according to the report. That’s when one of the men pulled the BB gun from his waistband and walked toward the loss prevention office before both ran away.
The officers attempted to stop them but let them go when there became a scuffle between them, the report states. A Wal-Mart employee saw the suspects’ vehicle and was able to get the tag before one of them asked if he wanted to get shot and told him to back off. He also threatened to pull out his “burner.”
A Mount Pleasant officer later located the vehicle the men got away in off Hospital Drive. They were seen in some woods in the area and an officer responded with a K-9 to conduct a track, the report states. The men got away. Their identities have not been released.
