Mother says child repeatedly molested during Salvation Army church services

Armondo Gonzalez

A mother says a 64-year-old man repeatedly molested her daughter during Salvation Army church services.

Armondo Gonzalez, 64, of McRoy Street in North Charleston was arrested Thursday and charged with criminal sexual conduct with a child under 11. The incident report says he works for an electrical repair company.

A Charleston police detective met the mother at St. Francis Hospital on Oct. 18, and she said her daughter had been fondled at the church service on Ashley River Road over the last five years, according to the incident report.

Gonzalez was being held in the Charleston County jail Friday.
