A Moncks Corner man faces a narcotics charge and is being investigated by the U.S. Secret Service because he had $5,000 in counterfeit currency, Charleston Police said Friday.
Brady Lucas, 20, of Quenby Lane, is charged with possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance after he was found with 99 Oxycodone pills.
He is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
Lucas was arrested Oct. 5 after a traffic stop that happened when officers observed a man riding on the side of a sport utility vehilce holding on to the roof rack and driver side door.
The man told police he jumped onto the vehicle near King and Calhoun streets because the driver owed him $300. He also told police the driver sold him fake drugs, and that drugs and weapons might be in the vehicle.
The narcotics and counterfeit currency were found during a search of his vehicle.
