Two people, including a Dorchester County sheriff’s deputy, suffered minor injuries Monday in a Summerville crash, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Lance Cpl. Matt Southern said the crash occurred just before 3:30 p.m. at North Main Street and U.S. Highway 78. The deputy was traveling north on Main Street and attempting to turn left on U.S. 17A when a vehicle traveling south on Main Street struck his cruiser.
The female driver of the second vehicle was taken to Trident Medical Center. The deputy hurt his hand but was not taken to the hospital, Southern said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
