Mild weather in store for Charleston today

Sunrise on Folly Beach Friday morning was much warmer than Thursday, and people were back out by the pier for their morning walks.

The cold snap that froze Charleston Thursday is over, although temperatures will remain a bit below normal this week.

Today will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 50 degrees and an overnight low around 30, according to the National Weather Service. That's still a bit cooler than the normal, with 59 degrees being the average high for the date.

Saturday's forecast calls for sunny skies, a high near 48 and an overnight low around 32.

Sunday could be wet. There's a 30 percent chance of rain after 8 a.m. during the day and a 50 percent of rain overnight.

The chance of rain remains at 50 percent Monday.
