Meggett elects Hutto, Watts and Herrington

Meggett voters returned to office Mayor Harry Herrington III and Councilman Tom Hutto in voting on Tuesday. A new council member, Angela Watts, was elected.

Incumbent Tom Hutto and newcomer Angela Watts were elected to Meggett Town Council in voting on Tuesday, the town reported Thursday.

Three candidates, including Lloyd Roberts, competed for two open seats on council. Incumbent Matt Zender did not seek re-election, officials said.

Hutto received 230 votes, Watts 217 and Roberts 77. Incumbent Mayor Harry Herrington III, who ran unopposed, received 249 votes, the town said.
