Meetings set to comment on proposed Francis Marion forest management plan

The Awendaw Passage connects with the Swamp Fox Trail in the Francis Marion National Forest.

Two meetings are scheduled for public comment on the proposed management plan for Francis Marion National Forest:

Oct. 6, 2-5 p.m. Berkeley County assembly room, 1003 U.S. Highway 52, Moncks Corner.

Oct. 27, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Sewee Visitor and Environmental Center, 5821 U.S. Highway 17, Awendaw.

The Berkeley County meeting is a drop-in open house format; U.S. Forest Service will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. The Awendaw meeting is a working group meeting to refine management plans, according to a news release from the Forest Service.
