Mary Lee the shark still hanging out off the South Carolina coast

This stillshot of OCEARCH.org's shark tracker shows Mary Lee the shark's latest position.

Mary Lee, the great white shark made famous when she was tagged by a group of scientists, is still crusing the South Carolina coastline.

The 3,500-pound, 16-foot-long shark pinged near Edisto Island within the last 24 hours, according to the shark tracker run by OCEARCH.org, the non-profit that tagged the shark and many others as part of shark research. She’s been near the coast much of the last week. She pinged near Murrells Inlet about a week ago and again near Edisto Beach on Nov. 2.

She’s now moving back toward the South Carolina coast, according to OCEARCH’s Facebook page.
