Man wounded by officer in shooting in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The State Law Enforcement Division is investigating after a man was shot and wounded by a law enforcement officer in Myrtle Beach.

Local media outlets report the incident occurred Thursday when officers went to a condominium complex to serve a drug warrant. Authorities say officers were fired on when they tried to serve the warrant and an officer returned fire, wounding the man.

Officers who serve on the local Drug Enforcement Unit come from various local agencies. Authorities did not say which agency the officer involved belonged to.

The wounded man was being treated at a hospital late Thursday. His name has not been released.
