Man surrenders in Greenville chase death


GREENVILLE, S.C. - Greenville County sheriff's deputies say a man has surrendered after being chased by the Highway Patrol when a fatal wreck occurred involving another vehicle and a patrol car.

Local media outlets report that 23-year-old Radrecus De Mario Young of Greenville has been charged with failure to stop for police with a resulting death. It was not clear if Young has an attorney.

Police said the chase and fatal wreck happened Dec. 21. Twenty-two-year-old Taylor Miller died when the SUV he was riding in hit a trooper's vehicle during the chase.

The driver of the SUV, 23-year-old Lauren E. Rowe of Mauldin, was charged with felony DUI with serious injury and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

The sheriff's office is still investigating the wreck.
