Man shot outside convenience store in North Charleston

A man was shot Thursday outside of a convenience store in North Charleston, according to police.

Officers were responding to the call at about 7 p.m. outside of the Hot Spot Convenience Store on Remount Road, according to North Charleston Police Department spokesman Spencer Pryor.

He said one male victim suffered a gunshot wound to the hip area and was taken to the hospital for treatment. No other details were released and the incident is under investigation.
