Man killed in North Charleston shooting identified

North Charleston police don't know who shot inside a Surrey Drive home Friday morning, killing a man inside.

Charleston County Chief Deputy Coroner Bobbi Jo O'Neal identified the dead man as Terrell Wilson, 21, of Charleston. He died at the scene from a gunshot wound, O'Neal said.

When police arrived at around 5 a.m. after a report of shots fired, they found Owens on a couch with a gunshot wound, according to police spokesman Spencer Pryor.

Owens was sleeping when someone shot into the home from outside, Pryor said.

Police don't have any information about who the shooter may be and are asking the public for help.

Authorities ask anyone with information to contact them at 843-740-2800 or Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
