Man injured in North Charleston shooting

One person was wounded in a North Charleston shooting Thursday evening, according to the police department.

Officers responded about 5 p.m. to the 7500 block of Hunters Ridge Road in reference to shots fired, said spokesman Spencer Pryor.

On scene officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound and he was taken to Medical University Hospital.

No other information was released.

In an unrelated matter, bullets hit several vehicles and a building in North Charleston on Wednesday night, but no victims or suspects were found.

Police were called to the 2200 block of Rebecca Street around 8:30 p.m., spokesman Spencer Pryor said. The area is off Rivers Avenue near I-526.

Officers found two vehicles and a building hit by bullets but did not locate a victim or any suspects, Pryor said.
