A stand-off with police ended with the detainment of a Goose Creek man early Sunday morning, according to Goose Creek authorities.

John Edward Svagerko discharged his firearm about three times inside a home on Foxchase Drive, police Sgt. William Ramirez said.

Authorities negotiated with Svagerko for several hours until they convinced him to exit the home, he said. Svagerko was alone inside the house and didn’t threaten himself or anyone else, according to Ramirez.

“He wanted to talk to his wife,” Ramirez said.

No one was injured and he was taken into custody, but on Sunday afternoon authorities with Goose Creek Police were unaware of what Svagerko had been charged with. He was released from the Hill-Finklea Detention Center in Moncks Corner on Sunday.
