A man fell to his death on King Street early this morning, according to the Charleston Police Department.
At about 3 a.m. officers responded to 363 King St.
The victim was allegedly moving from one roof to another by jumping over the courtyard, a span of about five to six feet, police spokesman Charles Francis said in a news release.
The man reportedly missed the roof while jumping, falling about 40 feet to the courtyard’s brick and concrete floor.
Thomas Cliff, 21, of West Ashley, was transported to Medical University Hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, according to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.
An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.
