Charleston police arrested a Meeting Street man Thursday in connection with car break-ins that occurred June 11 on Eagles View Drive in Heron Reserve in West Ashley.

Jerry Gardner Jr., 27, is charged with six counts of breaking into a motor vehicle and one count of property crime enhancement. The warrants were served at the Al Cannon Detention Center, where Gardner was being held on a charge by Charleston police of receiving stolen good, police spokesman Charles Francis said.

Officers responded to Eagles View Drive about 6:30 a.m. on June 11 after several cars were broken into, police said. Someone had broken into six vehicles and stolen sunglasses, DJ lights, a Taser stun gun, a cellular telephone charger and a silver and gold sword, Francis said.

The investigation is ongoing, Francis said.
