Man arrested in connection with Lester Street shooting, North Charleston police say

North Charleston police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting last month that wounded one man.

On May 31, officers were dispatched to Lester Street, concerning shots fired in the area, police said.

A 36-year-old man had received at least three gunshot wounds to his upper torso and stomach area, according to police. Paramedics transported the man to Medical University Hospital for treatment, an incident report states.

Witnesses reported hearing two people arguing prior to the gunshots, police said.

On Thursday, officers received a tip that White could be found at a home on Piedmont Avenue, according to the report.

Officers responded to the home and White was placed under arrest, police said.

He is being held at the Charleston County jail, jail records show.
