Major roads around Charleston clear, flooding expected later

7 a.m. traffic over the Ravenel Bridge.

The major traffic routes around Charleston are clear for the morning commute, although low-lying roads are expected to close because of tidal flooding later today.

At 7 a.m., DOT cameras showed no problems on I-26, I-526, the Ravenel Bridge or the Don Holt Bridge, and the Highway Patrol was reporting no significant accidents.

The Highway Patrol is reporting a 7:09 a.m. collision with no injuries on I-26 west at Ashley Phosphates, although no lanes are closed.

In downtown Charleston, Wentworth and Barre remained closed from Tuesday night’s flooding, and more flooding is expected on either side of high tide, which is around 10:16 a.m.
