Seven local students are among 60 high school seniors across the state who are graduating without having missed a day of school throughout their careers.
Local students named who have had perfect attendance since kindergarten are Nika Dawn Wendelberger, Tara Michelle Watkins and Kinard Ervin Givens, all of Stratford High School; Francis Vernon Manigault and Blake Andrew Driggers, both of Stall High School; Taylor Elaine Barrickman of West Ashley High School; and Joshua Michael Litchfield of Ashley Ridge High School.
“Going to school for over 2,100 consecutive days takes dedication from the student and their families,” said State Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman. “These students are committed to their education and I know they have a bright future ahead of them.”
The students will receive a certificate of achievement and a personal letter from Spearman.
