Trident Literacy Association
has been awarded a $10,000 grant to help it provide individualized, one-on-one literacy instruction to adults in the Tri-County region.
The money from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation will be used to help adults improve their reading, earn a GED and qualify for better jobs.
“Every year we are dependent on the generosity of our donors to help us grow and sustain our programs,” said Trident Literacy’s Executive Director Eileen Chepenik. “There are so many adults who need our special kind of assistance. We are proud that we can help them achieve their goals and grateful that Dollar General Literacy Foundation recognizes this importance.”
The Dollar General Literacy Foundation supports initiatives that focus on literacy and education.
