A Lincolnville resident was arrested Tuesday on a murder charge in the August death of a Ladson man.
Thomas Scott McFadden Jr., 23, is accused of killing 25-year-old Tyrell Bess.
A U.S. Marshals Service fugitive task force arrested McFadden on Tuesday afternoon outside a Golden Coral restaurant in North Charleston, sheriff’s Maj. Eric Watson said.
Charleston County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded shortly before 10 p.m. Aug. 14 to Bell Drive in Lincolnville and found several shell casings at the scene and a body lying in the woods a few yards away.
The road is a half mile south of U.S. Highway 78 and a mile east of U.S. Highway 17A.
Watson said physical evidence gathered at the shooting scene helped investigators develop McFadden as a suspect. He is being held at the Charleston County jail and is expected to appear Wednesday for a bond hearing.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (843) 202-1700 or Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-1111.
