A James Island woman was arrested early Monday after police said she stabbed her boyfriend in the chest.
Jacqueline Keli Crosland, 45, of Parkway Drive is charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature. She was being held Monday in the Charleston County Jail.
Charleston police officers were called to the house, which is off Riverland Drive, shortly before 2:30 a.m., according to the incident report. Before they got there, they were told the female who was involved was on her to way to a Sunoco station on Folly Road. An officer interviewed Crosland at the station and sent her to Medical University Hospital, according to the report.
Two other officers continued to the house. A man was standing on the porch with blood on the upper left side of his shirt. He told them he and Crosland had been in a relationship for about two and a half years and were living together and she had hit him before. He said they were arguing that night and he told her to go ahead and hit him, and instead, she picked up a pocketknife and stabbed him, then left the house, according to the report.
The boyfriend was taken to MUSC for treatment and released.
Crosland was charged and booked after being checked out at the hospital.
