James Island man arrested after sheriff's deputies find child porn on cell phone, authorities say

Adam Guy Noisette, 22, of Charleston, is charged with third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

A search of a robbed man's cellphone resulted in his arrest on a charge related to child pornography, Charleston County sheriff's deputies reported.

Adam Guy Noisette, 22, of Teal Avenue on James Island, became the subject of an investigation shortly after he reported being severely beaten with sticks and his wallet stolen as he walked home around midnight July 8.

Noisette consented to a search of his cellphone during an investigation into the robbery, sheriff's deputies reported. While scrolling through the contents of the device, investigators found pictures of young girls exposing various parts of their body, deputies said.

Authorities later confiscated three electronic devices from the man's home, Attorney General's Office spokesman Mark Powell said.

Sheriff's deputies on Aug. 5 charged Noisette with third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to Powell. He could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted on the felony charge, Powell said.

The arrest was Noisette's first in South Carolina, State Law Enforcement Division Records show.

The Attorney General's Office's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force assisted in the investigation. The office will prosecute the cases.
