The Humane Society of the United States has doubled its reward for the arrest and conviction of anybody involved in dog fighting.
Now the reward is $5,000, according to the society's web site.
Janet Frisco, who lives near Summerville, has been putting up posters saying the society offers a $2,500 reward. The reward increased after she bought those posters. The society announced the change on its website in August.
Frisco started putting up posters after she found dead dogs that she believes were used in dog fighting around the Summerville area.
The Humane Society's number to report dog fighting is 877-847-4787. Tipsters' identities are protected.
