Horry County officer charged with eluding Highway Patrol

Bradley Boggs

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The South Carolina Highway Patrol says it has charged an Horry County police officer with reckless driving and failing to stop for police after a pursuit earlier this week.

Patrol Cpl. Sonny Collins tells area media outlets that 39-year-old Bradley Boggs was arrested Wednesday.

Collins said a trooper tried to stop a car in a subdivision in Myrtle Beach on a traffic violation Monday but the driver sped away. After a chase, the driver got out of the car and ran away, eluding the trooper at the time.

A county spokeswoman says Boggs was employed with the Horry County police from 2010 until Wednesday. It was not immediately known if he had an attorney.
