Rashard Duncan

A Hollywood man accused of shooting at a man outside a nightclub last month surrendered to Charleston County deputies on Tuesday.

Rashard Keithan Duncan, 24, of Storage Road is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. He is being held in the Charleston County jail on $60,000 bail.

Investigators say about 2 a.m. May 9 Duncan shot at least five times at a man who was driving away from the Shady Rest Social Center on Storage Road, according to the arrest affidavit. The victim said he managed to jump out of the vehicle and take cover after the first shot. Deputies said they found five bullet holes in the passenger side of the Chevy Trailblazer.

The man said he and Duncan had an ongoing dispute over an unrelated shooting several years ago, according to the affidavit.

Another witness also saw Duncan fire the shots, according to the affidavit.

At the time of his surrender, Duncan was out of jail on $20,000 bail after being arrested May 27 and charged with unlawful carrying of a firearm, according to jail records.

He had also been arrested March 5, charged with third-degree assault and battery, pointing a firearm and distribution of crack, and released on $17,105 bail.

He was charged with armed robbery and kidnapping in August 2010 and the case dismissed, according to court records. He was charged with assault and battery with intent to kill in April 2009 and that case also was dismissed.
