Highway Patrol asking for tips in fatal hit and run near Summerville

The S.C. Highway Patrol is seeking information about a fatal hit-and-run collision in which a pedestrian was struck and killed near Summerville earlier this month.

Jordan Gailey, 29, of Summerville was fatally struck between 2:45 and 3:10 a.m. July 12 on U.S. Highway 17A near Farmington Road, which is east of Interstate 26. The driver who hit him fled the scene.

The color, make or model of the vehicle that hit him has not been determined, according to Lance Cpl. Hannah Wimberly.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Highway Patrol at 953-6010 or 1-800-768-1506, or leave a tip with Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
