Highway 17 now open to traffic after truck crashed into power lines

Traffic is back open on U.S. Highway 17 following an earlier wreck that knocked down a set of power lines, according to Mount Pleasant police.

The wreck occurred around 5 p.m. near the Dragoon Drive intersection, according to police. Traffic was blocked between Houston Northcutt Boulevard and Shelmore Boulevard for nearly two hours while authorities repaired two sets of power lines. No injuries were reported in the incident, police said.
