The Center for Heirs’ Property Preservation is offering a free Heirs’ Property Seminar on Wednesday from 6-7:30 p.m. at St. Andrews Regional Branch Library, 1735 N. Woodmere Drive.

The center’s supervising attorney Josh Walden will field questions and explain the steps you can take to protect your family land. To register, contact Jackie Wilson at 745-7055 or toll-free at 866-657-2676.

Heirs’ property is land that has been passed down through the generations without the benefit of a last will and testament. As a result, there is no clear title to the property and therefore all of the heirs own the land “in common.” With the acceleration in coastal development over the past twenty years, the loss of heirs’ property has increased.
