Heavy rain possible again today in Charleston

Heavy rain is possible again in the Charleston area today.

Scattered thunderstorms are in the forecast this afternoon. The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook because of the possibility of flooding.

The Lowcountry was drenched late Tuesday afternoon, and numerous streets were closed because of water.

The weather service puts the chance of rain today at 40 percent, up from 30 percent this morning. Otherwise today should be partly sunny, with a high near 87.

There’s a 20 percent chance of showers Thursday in the early morning and late afternoon, according to the weather service. Thursday should be partly sunny, with a high near 89.

Friday’s forecast includes a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 9 a.m., otherwise mostly sunny, with a high near 90.

Saturday and Sunday should be mostly sunny, with highs in the low 90s.
