A woman was slightly injured Thursday when struck by a bullet police said was fired by a man shooting at another man.
The woman was shot in a leg about 6:30 p.m. while she was in a vehicle. The bullet was fired by one of two men who were reportedly fighting near Grove Street and Rutledge Avenue, Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis said.
He said that, contrary to initial reports, only one of the men fired a weapon.
The woman was taken to Medical University Hospital, where she was treated and released.
Police were gathering information and trying late Thursday to identify the men, Francis said.
