Guilty plea in death of man found under SC home’s rubble

SENECA, S.C. — Authorities say a man has pleaded guilty in the beating death of a 61-year-old man found dead under the rubble of his burned Westminster home.

Solicitor Chrissy Adams says in a news release that Joshua Michael Fulbright was sentenced to 22 years in prison Thursday after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter.

Authorities say the body of Richard Marszalek was found in January 2014, nearly three weeks after being reported missing. His home had burned down weeks earlier.

The coroner said Marszalek died from head injuries and that his body was not burned in the blaze.

Authorities say Fulbright killed Marszalek during a fight in late December 2013. His body was wrapped in a blanket, then put under his own house.
