Lowcountry murder victims will be honored Sept. 25 as part of an annual event.
A ceremony for the ninth annual National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims will be held at the Lonnie Hamilton Public Service Building at 4045 Bridge View Drive in the North Charleston City Council chambers.
The Survivors of Homicide Support Group puts on the event. The group is a collaborative program between the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office of Victim Assistance and the Medical University of South Carolina Crime Victims Center.
The ceremony at 6:30 p.m. will honor those killed and recognize the impact on surviving family members and loved ones, according to the organization.
The group encourages the public and anyone who has lost a loved one to homicide to attend. For more information, call 745-2250.
