Youth Empowerment Services Inc. is looking for peer and adult mentors for middle and high school girls in North Charleston.

The mission of YES is to empower youth to embrace a lifestyle “of equal purity based on Christian principles.”

The group will host a kick off for girls, parents and volunteers at 5 p.m. Thursday at Midland Park Ministry Center, 2427 Midland Park Road, Building 400, in North Charleston.

The program’s youth participants will receive services to empower them to avoid at-risk behaviors, and will take part in activities that promote social and emotional learning, refusal skills and self-esteem.
