GREENVILLE, S.C. — Authorities say a Greenville County deputy has been fired after he was pulled over and charged with driving under the influence from officers on his own force.
Greenville County Sheriff Steve Loftis said in a news release he fired deputy Luke McClellan after the officer was stopped early Friday morning on state Highway 291 not far from Interstate 385.
Loftis says McClellan was charged with first-offense driving under the influence and disregarding a traffic control device.
The sheriff says McClellan was a patrol deputy hired in May 2014.
It wasn’t known if he had a lawyer.
