Goose Creek man's losing ticket wins $100,000 in second-chance drawing, lottery officials say

Brian McMaster, of Goose Creek, won $100,000 after he entered his losing lottery ticket into a second-chance drawing.

A losing lottery ticket ended up winning a Goose Creek man $100,000 in a second-chance drawing last week.

According to S.C. Education Lottery officials, NASCAR fan Brian McMaster played a game of $5 FAN-tastic! in 2013 but lost.

He entered his losing ticket into a second-chance drawing and hoped to win a trip to the Daytona 500 or the Bojangles' Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway, lottery officials said.

McMaster ended up taking home the drawing's top $100,000 prize. According to lottery officials, the win comes to about $68,000 after taxes.

McMaster and his wife plan to use the money to pay off their home, officials said.
