Goose Creek gas station robbery suspect arrested after photos released

A suspect was arrested after this surveillance photo of a Goose Creek gas station holdup was released.

A suspect in a Goose Creek gas station robbery was arrested Thursday morning after an acquaintance identified him from a surveillance photo, according to police.

Rias Isaac, 49, of Bellwright Road near Summerville, is accused of holding up the Hess Mart at 670 College Park Road Dec. 31.

The Goose Creek Police Department SWAT team, the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team and deputies with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office took Isaac into custody in his front yard Thursday morning, Goose Creek Police Lt. John Grainger said.

Isaac was charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon, kidnapping and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was taken to the Berkeley County jail.

Isaac entered the gas station about 6:15 a.m. with a pistol, demanded that the clerk empty the cash drawer and left with about $175 in cash, according to the arrest warrant.

The robber's actions were captured on the store's surveillance camera, and local media published photos last week. A man saw the images and told police he was 100 percent certain it was Isaac, according to the warrant.
