Free Charleston carriage ride for toy donation

A Charleston carriage company is offering a free ride Sunday to anybody who donates a toy for needy children.

Palmetto Carriage Works is collecting donations for Toys for Tots. Anyone who leaves a toy at the barn at 8 Guignard St. on Sunday will be offered a free carriage ride that day, according to an announcement from the company.

Palmetto Carriage Works will also offer a free guided tour to Charleston residents from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 31. A license or other proof of residence will be requested.

Parking will be free at the lot at Anson and Pinckney streets. This is the sixth year for the free tours for residents.
