Fox News to broadcast July 4 celebration at Patriots Point

The Patriots Point Fourth of July Fireworks Blast will be featured this holiday weekend on the Fox News Channel as part of the network’s #ProudAmerican campaign.

Fox News contributors Dana Perino and Heather Childers will broadcast live from the museum Friday and Saturday, said Chris Hauff, a spokesman for Patriots Point.

Perino is a former press secretary for George W. Bush and co-host of Fox’s “The Five.” Childers is a co-host on the show “Fox & Friends First.”

Broadcasts will begin aboard the aircraft carrier Yorktown at 5 a.m. Friday during “Fox & Friends First” and will continue periodically throughout the morning, Hauff said.

Fox News crews will return to the museum at 6 a.m. Saturday during “Fox & Friends” with Childers speaking with area residents throughout the day about why they’re a proud American, Hauff said.

Perino is also expected to deliver a speech about her own patriotism at 2 p.m. followed by a book signing, Hauff said. Other festival activities on Saturday include live music, a jump castle, food and beverages.

Tickets to partake in festivities aboard the flight deck at Patriots Point are sold out, Hauff said. Attendees can, however, enjoy the festival for free landside.

Parking for all guests costs $10 per vehicle.
