A flash flood watch is in effect for much of the Lowcountry until Tuesday afternoon, the National Weather Service reports.

Wind and wave conditions could also produce strong rip currents along area beaches today, the Weather Service said.

A 70 percent chance of heavy rain is expected with wind gusts up to 35 mph. Highs will be in the mid 80s with lows will be in the mid 70s.

Tuesday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected with wind gusts up to 35 mph. Highs will be in the mid 80s with lows in the mid 70s.

Wednesday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected with 10 to 15 mph winds. Highs will be in the mid 80s with lows in the mid 70s.
