The North Charleston Fire Department is investigating the cause of a structure fire at Dorchester Garden Apartments Friday morning, spokeswoman Bianca Sancic said.
Firefighters controlled the blaze, at 5600 Dorchester Road, about 10 minutes after the first unit arrived. No injuries have been reported, Sancic said.
Two apartments were damaged in the blaze.
Volunteers with the Carolina Lowcountry Chapter of the American Red Cross provided one adult from each apartment emergency shelter in a nearby hotel, financial assistance to help replace the food and clothing that was lost in the fire, comfort kits containing personal hygiene items and referrals to partner agencies.
