Fire destroys family’s Johns Island home

Fire destroyed a family’s mobile home Sunday morning on Johns Island, according to the American Red Cross.

The Red Cross helped the adult and four children on Cane Slash Road by providing temporary housing, as well as money for food and clothes, the organization said in a statement.

The community is southwest of the intersection of River Road and Maybank Highway.

The Red Cross referred the family to agencies that can help the fire victims find more permanent accommodations.
