A fire destroyed a boat at the Limehouse landing Saturday.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m., the owner turned the key to the 22-foot Sea Ray and a fire broke out, St. Johns Fire and Rescue Capt. James Ghi said. The man jumped out of the boat and was not hurt. The boat was destroyed.

No fuel spill has been detected, Ghi said. The Department of Natural Resources was on scene.

Investigators were trying to determine what started the fire, Ghi said.

Charleston and St. Andrews fire departments assisted, and Charleston County EMS was also on scene.

The boat landing is by the Limehouse Bridge between U.S. 17 South and Johns Island
