Firefighters are investigating a blaze that damaged a North Charleston home overnight.

North Charleston and Ashley River fire departments were dispatched about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday to a home on Jadewood Drive, North Charleston Fire Department spokeswoman Bianca Sancic said.

Jadewood Drive is in the Forest Hills subdivision south of Dorchester Road near the Cross County Road intersection.

Crews reported seeing flames coming from the roof and the back of the home, Sancic said. Firefighters extinguished the blaze in about 20 minutes, she said.

The home sustained heavy damage to its attic. No one was injured in the fire and one resident is being assisted by family members, Sancic said.

The fire’s cause is still under investigation.
