The Fetter Health Care Network, which primarily treats low-income and uninsured patients in the Lowcountry, has hired a new CEO.
Aretha Jones previously served as chief executive officer for the J.C. Lewis Primary Health Care Center in Savannah.
The Fetter Health Care Network operates eight clinics across the Lowcountry. Its flagship office is between Nassau and Meeting streets in downtown Charleston. The clinics employ 125 health care workers, according to a statement about Jones’ appointment.
“As Fetter approaches its 50th anniversary providing affordable, quality primary care, Jones brings solid professional experience in implementation of facility expansion, stable leadership during a time of rapid change in health care and the introduction of progressive health care programs,” the statement said.
Ruth Jordan, former chairwoman of the Charleston County School Board, had served as Fetter’s interim CEO.
The Fetter offices are not free clinics. Patients are charged for services on a sliding scale.
