False alarm involving ‘suspicious letter’ at Berkeley County Courthouse

An investigation at the Berkeley County Courthouse involving a suspicious package “turned out to be nothing,” according to the Moncks Corner Police Department.

Maj. Eric Watson said the Charleston County Bomb Squad responded about 3:30 p.m. to the courthouse, which is located at 300-B California Avenue.

Lt. Michael Roach said about 6:15 p.m. that the report was “checked out and turned out to be nothing.”

No other details have been released.
