Ex-boyfriend charged in S.C. death of upstate New York woman

LONGS, S.C. — Authorities in South Carolina say they have charged the ex-boyfriend of an upstate New York woman with her killing.

Horry County Lt. Mark Bonner tells local media that 22-year-old Shannon DiTillio was found dead Monday in a vacant lot in the community of Longs about 25 miles northeast of Myrtle Beach.

The coroner’s office says she was about 16 weeks pregnant.

Police say DiTillio came to South Carolina from Buffalo, New York, four days earlier.

Investigators say 24-year-old Christopher Kalb was charged with murder after being arrested on unrelated charges in Brunswick County, North Carolina.

Authorities say Kalb and DiTillio had a child together.

It wasn’t known if Kalb had a lawyer.
